Divided We Fail
Thousands across Michigan struggle
every day with the rising costs of
health care and saving for retirement.
Families want peace of mind and want
to know they won’t outlive their
savings or be ruined by a health
emergency. AARP has joined with
others to launch Divided We Fail, an
effort to give voice to the millions of
Americans who are tired of letting
Washington gridlock stand in the way
of affordable, quality health care and
lifetime financial security.
Here in Michigan, a group of AARP
volunteers from communities
throughout the state have teamed up
to help spread the Divided We Fail
message. From now until the 2008
November elections, volunteers will be
speaking at events, asking voters to
sign the Divided We Fail pledge cards
and gathering stories from
Michiganians about how health care
and financial security issues have
affected their lives. Our goal is to
create a movement for change and
elect national leaders who will give us
action, answers and accountability on
health and lifetime financial security.
Together, we can do anything, but
divided we fail.
Town Hall Meeting
AARP will sponsor a series of town hall meetings for
members and the public across Michigan over the next few
months to gather opinions and share how the issues of
health care and financial security have affected the people of
our state.
This Town Hall meeting invitation is TraverseCity’s Call to Action.
We’ll then take your stories and ideasto the halls of Congress and the Oval Office as millions of
Americans demand action, answers and accountability on
health care and lifetime financial security. We need your
stories, your experiences, your opinions and your ideas.
Come learn about the Divided We Fail movement here in
Michigan and how we will work to enact change.
