Catholic Human Services, Older Adult Resources unit is presenting a program under our Dementia Caregiver Education Series on June 20, 2008 titled “Issues in Dementia Care-Urinary Incontinence and Pain”. This program is designed for family and professional caregivers.

The presenters are Amy Brode, D.O. and Jean Gash, M.S.N. with Tri-County Urologists in suburban Detroit and Kevin Denlinger, D.O. with MidMichigan Health Park in Houghton Lake . Morning topics will include medical etiology of incontinence, incontinence in people with dementia and regulatory guidelines. The afternoon session will examine types of pain, methods to recognize pain and pain management options for people with dementia.

The program will be held at the Waterfront Conference Center in Traverse City. Pre- registration is required. There is a registration fee which includes lunch and materials. Continuing education contact hours are available for Social Workers, Adult Foster Care providers and Nursing Home Administrators. Approval pending for contact hours for nurses.
