Fun stuff coming up!

 

Saturday, April 19th  GADGET GURU FAIR  FREE!!  11 am – 1 pm  Come check out latest technology in televisions, i-pods, cameras, housewares, automobiles.  No reservation needed.

Book Study w/Reverend Bill MacDonald  starts Monday, April 14th 10 a.m. FREE.  Title:  Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren.  Pat & I have both studied this book numerous times and get something new from it each time.  It was a life changing book for me.  No need to call ahead, just come on in.

Art-Innovators – FREE Demo Friday. April 18th 11 a.m.  Classes begin Friday, April 25th for 5 weeks Cost-$70/5 weeks.  Discover the artist in you using various mediums.  They promise they can make an artist out of any of us!  Great program!!!!!  Reservations needed for Class but not the demo.

Adult Spelling Bee  Friday, May 2nd 1p.m.  $5 (to be donated to local student champion for trip to Washington finals).  To be held at Twin Lakes Gilbert Lodge in Long Lake Township.  Sign up in a team of 3 or we’ll put you on a team.  Next practice round:  Friday, April 18th 12 noon at the TC Library. 

GREAT BRAIN EXERCISE!  Use it or lose it they say right?  This is great fun every year – you won’t be disappointed.  We prefer you call ahead for a reservation, but you can sign up at the Bee on May 2nd if you wish.    Sponsors:  Comfort Keepers & Traverse City Record Eagle

 

DID YOU KNOW? ~ Did you know we serve a hot, nutritious meal Monday – Friday at 12 noon?  The menu entrée is listed on our monthly calendar.  This meal is available for a $2.50 donation for anyone 60 and over.  Included with the meal is:  Entrée, potato, vegetable, salad bar, dessert and beverage!  I challenge you to find a better deal ANYWHERE in town or beyond!  This meal program is essential to many of our members.  We would appreciate your support and welcome you to attend the lunch.  Reservations are required 24 hours in advance and can be made by calling 947-5285. 

 

ENTERTAINMENT SCHEDULE:

Tuesdays 11 am – Pat Robertson, often accompanied by local Salvation Army Lieutenant – FABULOUS!

Wednesdays 11 am – Frank Rusch on the organ.  Plays popular tunes from the 30’s & 40’s that will spark a         memory or two.

Fridays 11:45 am – GT Mountain Dulcimer Society – awesome music!

Fridays 3:30 pm – Front Street Jazz Band practices here and loves an audience!  They’re loud and GREAT

GROOVY Grandpas Exercise Class for Men – starts Monday May 12th 9 am $2/class.  Will be held Mondays & Fridays at 9 a.m.  Reservations not necessary.  Instructor:  Thad Cypher a professionally AFPA certified trainer.

Beginning Line Dancing Class starting Tuesday, May 13th  9:30 a.m.  $2/class.  Reservation please as this class will most likely fill up fast.

Mark Your Calendar!  Wed. May 21st Senior EXPO~Ideas for Life  FREE!!!  10 am – 7 pm  Over 90 vendors displaying products and services for seniors and their caregivers.  The Senior Center booth will be playing the Nintendo Wii – so come see us!

Traverse City’s Senior Center is situated on beautiful city park land along the beaches of Grand Traverse Bay serving more than 3,000 members, starting age is 50 years old. The Senior Center building is open Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and hosts more than 35 different programs, classes, and activities monthly.
